BLS Basic Life Support Instructor Renewal Course

Description of Course:
A Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor may teach the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course (BLS Provider (Initial) Classroom Instructor-Led Course, BLS Provider (Renewal) Classroom Instructor-Led Course, and HeartCode BLS Hands-On Skills Session. In addition, BLS Instructor’s may teach Heartsaver Courses including: Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Classroom Instructor-Led Course, Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Hands-On Skills Session, Heartsaver CPR AED Classroom Instructor-Led Course, Heartsaver CPR AED Hands-On Skills Session, Heartsaver First Aid Classroom Instructor-Led Course, Heartsaver First Aid Hands-On Skills Session, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Classroom Instructor-Led Course, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Hands-On Skills Session, Heartsaver for K-12 Schools, Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogen, and Family and Friends CPR. 2020 American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Manual and 2020 American Heart Association Heartsaver Instructor Manual are required to attend the course.

Steps to Renew an American Heart Association BLS Instructor: 

• Student must have current American Heart Association BLS Basic Life Support Instructor ECard with ECard number. Instructor must be current and aligned with CPR Heart of Angels, LLC Training Center.
• Student must have current American Heart Association BLS Provider Course eCard with eCard number status and be proficient in all of the skills that is required under the BLS discipline. 
• Student must successfully complete the 2020 AHA Guidelines BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course and the classroom hands-on session. You can purchase and pay American Heart Association directly. AHA Website: https://shopcpr.heart.org | Course: BLS Instructor Essentials Online (2020 AHA Guidelines) | AHA Product Number: 20-1420 | You must print the Course Completion Certificate and bring a copy to the BLS Instructor Course. The Instructor Essentials Course must be completed before attending the BLS Instructor Course. 
• Student must successfully complete the BLS Instructor Classroom Course and Paperwork.
• Student must successfully be monitored by CPR Heart of Angels, LLC Training Center Faculty (TCF) member while teaching your first class. This will be scheduled on the same day immediately after the Instructor Course. The Training Center Coordinator may require additional monitoring. CPR Heart of Angels, LLC is an authorized American Heart Association Training Center. 
• Student will be issued a BLS Instructor Course eCard after successful completion of all requirements. AHA BLS Instructor eCard is valid for 2 years.
• Student must purchase own Instructor Books, Student Workbooks, DVD Video’s, etc. Student must bring all materials to the BLS Instructor Course. Directed Feedback Device Manikins will be discussed during the BLS Instructor Course. 
• Your Training Center will grant you access to the current emergency cardiovascular care science, course updates, training resources, and tools through the online American Heart Association Atlas Instructor Network. You will be granted access to post your classes on the American Heart Association Atlas Public Class Connector after completion of the BLS Instructor Course.
